Dental slow speed air motors are pneumatically powered connecting directly onto the Midwest or Borden hoses attached to the dental delivery unit. The air motor connects contra-angles and/ or straight handpieces to the motors ISO E-type attachment. Many models run around 20,000 RPM, with some lower-speed versions running at around 5,000 RPM.
